The development of pottery classes at Fairview Studios began in 1974 as Ceramics Canada. Ceramics Canada, purchased in 1972, was a slip casting operation of Polynesian drink ware. By 1974, the organization needed a new focus and classes along with production pottery were established. The classes were held on two hand built kick wheels and one electric Shimpo - still in use today!

Over the years Ceramics Canada expanded into a pottery supplier and held larger classes. In 1993, Fairview Studios was created offering classes along with a production pottery. From this point, Ceramics Canada began to operate solely as a pottery supply store.

Fairview Studios has continued to grow over the years with its focus primarily being recreational training. We are pleased to be the chosen studio to an average enrollment of 60 students.
