Class Info
Fairview Studios is a recreational pottery studio located in SE Calgary, AB. Our adult-only pottery classes are offered on a year-round basis.
FEES: $185 + GST per four-week block

Each class is instructed by an experienced ceramic artist from the Fairview Studios community. Classes are available Mondays to Thursdays, and Saturday mornings.

All members are provided a storage shelve for your creative ceramic works-in-progress as well as your tools and clay.
Our fully equipped pottery studio includes wheels, kilns, work benches, a reclaim area, custom glaze station and all the tools for beginners to more experienced artists.

All Fairview Studios members are provided with 24/7 secure access to the facility. Open studio time is included in class fees and available to members before or after scheduled classes.

Working on a project and need more time? Open-studio time is available any time classes are not in session. That’s 144 hours of time to think and create outside-of-the-box.

Our team of pottery instructors have been active members of the Fairview Studios community for years.
Our community is a blend of new and experienced pottery artists. We are all teachers. We are all students. The welcoming open-studio atmosphere provides lots of time for inspiration and community engagement.

A typical Fairview Pottery class will include:
Pottery Wheel Demonstration which covers the basics of techniques such as how to centre clay on the wheel, shape it, and create various different ceramic forms.
Studio time to work on techniques and projects with an experienced pottery instructor available to answer questions, provide tips and one-on-one support.
Community love and all the “collective-feels” associated with every creative success, failure and outside-of-the box ideas that happen.

Missed classes are easy to make-up. We have ample space, equipment and the ebb and flow of our community make it easy to drop-in to any alternate scheduled classes during your 4-week block.

Select clay is available for purchase at Fairview Studios. Students are permitted to use other clay bodies in the studio if preferred.
For artists who wish to reduce waste and clay costs, a reclaim station is onsite.

The Glaze Station at Fairview Studios is stocked with select Custom Glazes available for members to use.
Commercial Glazes are not available for sale at the studio, but can be purchased elsewhere and used within the facility.

Kiln Firing your pottery creations is an additional charge. Price is based on the size and dimensions of each piece and paid with your studio fees upon each monthly-renewal.
